This is the first of two recordings of Bob Kaufman, Bruce Gertz and Jerry Bergonzi, expressing the intervalic melodies of Jerry Bergonzi. The compositions are either based on standard songs or totally new creations. The chordless trio with Kaufman on drums, Gertz on bass and Begonzi on tenor saxophone creates plentiful space for improvisation and allows these stellar musicians to reach extremely high levels of communication. This is what jazz is about.
