The quirky yet sophisticated themes of "Reptilian Fantasies" and its artsy album cover capture exactly that of the music. Among the tracks included are several reptile-themed titles including "Snake Shot," and "The Lizard of Ozz" (A classic Gertz spoof on 'The Wizard of Oz'). This is the second installment from Open Mind Jazz. Compositions of Gertz (bass), Jerry Bergonzi (tenor saxophone, drums) and Gabriel Guerrero (piano) are featured in performances with Tim Horner on drums and Ken Cervenka on trumpet and flugel horn. As in the first Open Mind Jazz release, "It Wasn't Me," the players give 120% of themselves to the music.
